Kibeho Holyland, Southern Rwanda

Kibeho Holy Land is one of Africa’s most important spiritual destinations and a deeply meaningful place for pilgrims from around the world. Located in the rolling hills of southern Rwanda, Kibeho became known globally after the approved Marian apparitions of 1981, when the Virgin Mary is believed to have appeared to three young students with messages of peace, repentance, and compassion. At the center of Kibeho is the Basilica of Our Lady of Sorrows, a place of prayer, reflection, and healing. Pilgrims can attend daily mass, walk the Rosary path, join spiritual retreats, and meet the Sisters and local faithful who maintain the sanctuary.
